Douglas Modern Villa

"So lucky we found this home! Rave reviews from our multi-generational (9yo-74yo) group of family and friends. Third and by far the best of Michigan shore homes we have rented. Did almost all our meals at home, and this was definitely the best kitchen ever...great gas range, two dishwashers, extra refrigerator-freezer in garage, (and another sink-fridge for roof deck), and almost everything you'd need for preparing, serving, and storing food (yes, we are foodies!). Accommodations clean, comfortable, and attractive with quality amenities throughout (really appreciated two dishwashers and supersized washer/dryer). Lots of storage in bedrooms and bathrooms. Master bedrooms with private baths on two levels. Lower level great for kids (and adults) with TV, pool table and fussball. Plenty of room in upstairs dining/kitchen/family room with TV and music system. Very nice backyard with fire pit, eating area, and room for lawn games; rooftop deck with river view also has seating and space for group to gather. Ample beach supplies and plenty of room for bikes and overflow storage in garage. Great location- river, fishing dock, kayak and paddle board rental across the street; a few blocks from Douglas restaurants, galleries, shops and just a few minutes from Saugatuck; easy drive to Oval Beach and other recreational activities in the area. Local guidebook and online suggestions provided by Alex was very helpful; recommend reviewing guidebook week before arrival so you can make advance reservations if needed. Alex maintained regular communication and was very responsive when we contacted him. Could go on and on but will stop here...Highly recommend!!"

"The home is beautiful, extremely clean, well furnished, comfortable, and has a very well equipped kitchen. The location is walkable to downtown Douglas, and has lovely water views. We were a group of 15 and had plenty of space for sleeping, cooking, and dining. The backyard and roof deck are lovely as well. The hosts were extremely communicative and clear, and the check in and out processes were very easy. Overall a truly wonderful stay in Douglas."

"Three generations of our family enjoyed this beautiful home for a week in July. There was plenty of room for 13 of us, and we utilized many of the amenities, including both grills and the beautiful backyard space. The house is in an ideal location, a block from downtown Douglas and 5 minute drive to Saugatuck, Oval Beach, etc. Communication with the property manager was excellent, and there were many thoughtful touches that made it an ideal rental. We cooked many meals in the large kitchen, and appreciated the well-stocked tools, plentiful silverware, dishes and glassware, and double dishwashers. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this home again!"

"We had 9 adults and 4 kids and absolutely loved this home. It was very spacious and the most well appointed rental we've ever been in. The inside of the home was extremely clean and well cared for. We loved having a yard for the kids to play and the view from the roof top deck is beautiful. It was too short of a trip this go around, but we'd love to stay again, walk to downtown Douglas, and take the very short drive to explore Saugatuck. We would HIGHLY recommend this house to our friends and family."

"This was the perfect house for a short getaway with my family of 5 and both sets of grandparents. Everyone's first impression was that house was very modern, super clean and well organized with all the labels. We enjoyed the game room and our youngest (5 years old) enjoyed walking to the playground that was only 2 blocks away. Even though a lot of activities aren't available/opened till May, we still had a great time staying at this beautiful and centrally located house. Alex was a great host and periodically sent emails to make sure we were doing ok. Looking forward to coming again sometime during the summer when there's more outdoor activities available!"

"We (a group of 2 families) stayed at this property. The property appeared just as represented in the listing pictures. We really appreciated the two master bedrooms and there was plenty of room for our group to spread out. The property was exceptionally clean when arrived and you can tell the owners have taken good care of the property. The kitchen was very well-stocked with every cooking implement and utensil you might need to prepare meals. There was also an additional fridge/freezer in the garage if you need additional space for refrigerated items. There was plenty of dining space in the kitchen for our entire group to eat together. The home stayed at a comfortable temperature in the summer heat and the WiFi worked well. The property owners communicated the check-in process early and in appropriate detail. The owners responded quickly to any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Douglas / Saugatuck area of Michigan."

"The Douglas modern villa is an incredibly well-appointed home full of every amenity needed for a great vacation. The kitchen was the perfect place for our group of old friends to gather and cook delicious meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and modern. The rooftop deck offers a beautiful view of the water, the backyard has a patio and firepit. The proximity to Douglas village is excellent. We enjoyed strolling into town for coffee, meals, gallery tours. It's also super close to Saugatuck and all of its offerings. We would definitely return!"
