About the owners of Saugatuck Vacation Rentals

About us
We are a family of five, with three kids aged 7 to 12. We have been coming to Saugatuck/Douglas multiple times a year for well over a decade.
We purchased Saugatuck Modern Farmhouse as our second home in 2014, and we still use it as such. We enjoy the area and the hosting experience and recently decided to buy Douglas Modern Villa in 2020.
Our parents travel with us often and we also like to spend time with other families. These houses are a great way to spend time with multi-generational families, groups of friends, or a couples getaway.
We are experienced hosts: we are recognized as a Premier Host by Vrbo and a Superhost by AriBNB. We have over 400+ verified reviews, with a 5-star average, so you can have peace of mind when booking.
We built this website to allow direct bookings, primarily for the benefit of our many repeat guests, so you don’t have to pay the significant fees associated with booking through one of these platforms. Learn more about the benefits of booking direct here.
We enjoy everything that Saugatuck can offer year-around. In the summer, our favorites activities are Oval Beach, walking around downtown, getting coffee at Uncommon Grounds, ice cream at Kilwin’s, and food from Phil’s, Wicks Park, and Everyday People Cafe. In the winter we tend to stay in more, cook big family meals, order takeout, and still enjoy the downtown areas and the many businesses that stay open year around.
On his free time, Alex is an aspiring home chef, and as a result, the kitchens are equipped with everything you would need to put together a great meal. From grilling, sous vide, cast iron and Dutch ovens, sharp knives, baking pans, food processors, and blenders ,your cooking needs should be well covered. Also there is sufficient dishware, silverware and serving dishes to put a meal together for the full capacity of the house with room to spare.

What makes our Saugatuck Vacation Rentals homes unique
Saugatuck Modern Farmhouse is our first house in Saugatuck. Our guests are often multi-generational families, multiple families, and groups of couples. The house can comfortably sleep 16 guests. It allows good privacy for each guest, as well as many gathering areas. It is newer than the majority of homes available in Saugatuck; and it is configured with multiple private spaces / desks and premium internet service for those folks that can't stay unplugged from work for too long.
Douglas Modern Villa is a recent addition to the “family”. The house was newly built in 2015, and we finished the lower level in 2020, bringing the house configuration to 6 bedrooms / 4.5 bathrooms. This house can comfortably sleep 15 guests. We really enjoy Douglas, MI and wanted a home that had a more modern style. The house offers plenty of outdoor space, including a yard, outdoor seating, and a great roof deck that overlooks the water. This property has an excellent game room, where we spend hours playing billiards, Foosball or darts.
One of the main questions we had while visiting the area, as I am sure many of you have, was if we wanted to stay in town or on the water. When we came to Saugatuck, we found that we would go to the beach 3-4 times a week, depending on weather, but we would come into town multiple times a day, so the decision was easy. Both properties are in excellent walking locations - quiet neighborhoods yet a short walk to downtown Saugatuck and downtown Douglas. Oval Beach is a short drive away.
